1、三只小猪的作者是（英国）约瑟夫·雅各布斯。1890年首次出版在English Fairy Tale。2、约瑟夫·雅各布斯（1854-1916）出生在澳大利亚的悉尼，1872年移居英格兰，就读于剑桥大学国王学院，后对人类学产生兴趣，成为英格兰民俗学会重要成员。3、他用十年时间收集英国民间童话，分两卷于1890和1894年出版，弥补了英国文学的一项缺憾。1900年，举家迁往美国纽约，雅各布斯先做《犹太大百科》的修订编辑，后成为犹太神学院的英文教授。1914年返回欧洲治疗心脏病，两年后卒于此病，享年六十二岁。内容简介：三只小猪是兄弟，为抵抗大野狼而有不同的遭遇，大哥盖草屋，二哥盖木屋，三弟盖了砖屋，最后只有不嫌麻烦的三弟的屋子没有被大野狼弄垮，还把大野狼给煮来吃了。目前较为流传的版本因针对儿童心理而修改过，将狼吃猪，猪吃狼的情节修改掉，变成三弟最后保护了大哥和二哥，并用巧计赶走大野狼。在英语世界中，三只小猪的童话其实也是童谣。其中大野狼的台词因押韵有趣而相当著名。
